Partner Permanent Visa Subclass 100
Grants permanent residence to the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.
Overview
The Partner (Migrant) visa (subclass 100) grants permanent residence to the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. It is usually the second stage of the combined Partner visa application, following the grant of the temporary Partner (Provisional) visa (subclass 309). Once granted, you can live, work, and study in Australia indefinitely and later apply for citizenship if eligible.
Do You Have What It Takes?
- ✔ Hold a valid Partner (Provisional) visa subclass 309 or a Dependent Child visa subclass 445
- ✔ In most cases, continue to be in a genuine, continuing relationship with your sponsor (Australian citizen, PR, or eligible NZ citizen)
- ✔ Have met any condition and disclosure requirements since the 309 grant (e.g., no changes that invalidate the relationship)
- ✔ Meet health and character requirements (you may be asked for updated checks)
- ✔ Provide updated evidence of your relationship across financial, household, social, and commitment aspects
- ✔ No outstanding debts to the Australian Government; sign the Australian Values Statement
- ✔ Special scenarios: Long-standing relationships or children in the relationship at time of 309 decision may be assessed for 100 earlier
- ✔ Relationship changes (e.g., domestic violence, death of sponsor, child of the relationship) may allow consideration for permanent grant—seek advice
