What the Job Ready Program is

The JRP is an on‑the‑job pathway that lets eligible international graduates demonstrate they meet Australian occupational standards through supervised employment and milestone checks. It is available only after a successful Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) that verifies your Australian qualification and identifies you as eligible to enter the JRP.

Who the JRP is for

The JRP is for international students who:

• hold an Australian trade or associate professional qualification issued by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), and
• have completed a Provisional Skills Assessment confirming their qualification is suitable for the JRP, and
• meet any program and visa eligibility requirements (for example, lawful onshore status and appropriate work rights).

Program structure and key steps

• Complete a Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) and receive a PSA outcome that allows JRP entry.
• Enrol in the JRP through TRA’s online portal and pay the program fee.
• Undertake employment in your nominated occupation in Australia and meet the JRP milestones (periods of assessed employment, evidence submissions and workplace‑based verification).
• TRA reviews submitted employment evidence and may require workplace assessments or RTO involvement where specified.
• On successful completion of JRP requirements, TRA issues a final Migration Skills Assessment outcome suitable for Home Affairs visa applications.

What TRA assesses in the JRP
